City hall open
house is planned on Friday
___ The city of Jacksonvilleıs annual Christmas
open house will be held at city hall on Friday, Dec. 17 from noon to
3 p.m. The ceremony to present year pins and certificates to city employees
will begin at 2 p.m. in the council chamber.
___ Everyone is invited to stop by for
refreshments.
Operation Cookie
Drop seeking donations
___Operation Cookie Drop is looking for
homemade cookies to be delivered to the troops at Little Rock Air Force
Base Friday, Dec. 24.
___ Cookies can be delivered to Wing Headquarters
building, room 106 Monday, Dec. 20 or Tuesday, Dec. 21 or at the Jacksonville
Chamber of Commerce.
Senior center
offers brunch on Thursday
___Jacksonville Senior
Center will host a brunch beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday. Entertainment
will be provided by Marshall and Edith Smith. All seniors are invited
to attend.
Head Start beginning
enrollment for program

Head Start at Bayou Meto Elementary School in Jacksonville, is now enrolling
children ages 3 and 4 born on or before Sept. 15, 2004, for the 2004-2005
year.

monthıs current and consecutive income, childıs original birth certificate,
current immunization record and childıs social security card.

Jacksonville shelter
TUCKER,
a hound mix medium sized male is 6 months old, neutered and current on
shots. He's great with kids and other dogs. Also available for adoption
is SAM, a lab male who is very calm and loving; CHOPS, a Australian shepherd
mix puppy who loves to play; BUDDY, a shepherd mix white, neutered and
housebroken; and a tri-color male beagle who needs a great inside home.
The shelter is located at 217 Redmond Road and is open from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cabot shelter
The Cabot shelter is overflowing with puppies which need good homes. For
more information, call 941-1610. The shelter also has adult dogs available
for adoption. The shelter is located at 800 Kerr Station Road. Call Sandy
