___It was an emotional Monday afternoon at the Little Rock National Airport, as Army specialist and Cabot police officer Tim Evans and his new wife Monika were reunited after being apart for almost their entire marriage, since Tim has been deployed to Iraq with the Army.
___ Monika and Tim were married last December at city hall by Cabot Mayor Stubby Stumbaugh just weeks before he was to be deployed to Iraq.
___ He is a member of the Army National Guard's 114th Air Traffic Control Battalion based at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock. He has been stationed at Camp Anaconda just north of Baghdad and has been participating in joint operations with the Air Force.
___ "Things have been tough, but we have been talking every day and making plans for his trip home," said Monika.
___ According to Evans' mom, Donna Marty of Memphis, "Things have been really tough because I just moved."
___ Evans will be home for 15 days, as part of a scheduled rotation, before going back to Iraq to rejoin his unit. During his time home he plans on spending time with family and friends. Evans also is looking forward to going out to eat at a couple of local restaurants. According to Evans' wife they talked about how much he missed good food, compared to the Army chow.
___ "We just plan on taking it day by day while I am home," said Evans. Evan's unit is scheduled to be home for good sometime in December or January.
