Tuesday is #CityHall Selfie Day in JacksonvilleFree Access

Jacksonville will celebrate #CityHallSelfie Day on Tuesday, Aug. 15. Community members are encouraged to take a selfie in front of a government building in Jacksonville and post the photo with the hashtag #CityHallSelfie.

Engaging Local Government Leaders began #CityHallSelfie Day, a nationwide event to promote pride in local government.

Jacksonville City Hall, at 1 Municipal Drive, will also hold a cookout to mark #CityHallSelfie Day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15. The event will include free grilled hot dogs, and a digital Jacksonville Bingo Challenge card will be available for participants to compete for a chance to win a $100 gift card.

Mayor Jeff Elmore said, “Jacksonville is a great place to live and work, and this day recognizes our city’s government and employees (who) keep things running smoothly on a daily basis. We will never forget the March 31 tornado, nor will we forget how the people of Jacksonville united after the storm. With #CityHallSelfie Day, we hope to celebrate, not only the city, but also the people (who) call this city home.”
